Trek the Lion’s Trail Walk

Morning

Let’s embark on an exhilarating journey today as we conquer the iconic Lion's Head Trail. This classic Cape Town trek promises breathtaking views, including 360-degree panoramas of renowned landmarks such as Cape Town itself, Table Mountain, The Twelve Apostles, Robben Island, Signal Hill, Sea Point, Camps Bay, and the Clifton Beaches.

We will begin our day’s adventure at the iconic red and white Green Point Lighthouse. First we’ll walk along the Sea Point promenade before embarking on a steep climb up towards Signal Hill to reach the start of the Lion Heads National park. Our hike then loops around the Signal Hill Ridge offering views over Sea Point and then onto Lower Lions Head down to The Glen and onto the white sand and blue waters of Clifton Beach. From there let’s climb a short stairs up again to reach the main road where we will be met by e-scooters to make our way back to the start at Green point Lighthouse.

Get to know the Cape Malay people

Morning

Today let's unravel the rich tapestry of Cape Town by exploring the vibrant Bo-Kaap area, the cultural heart of the Cape Malay people, whose ancestors were once slaves from regions like Malaysia and Indonesia.

Let’s begin with a walking tour with our expert local guide to learn more about this historic area of cobbled streets, colourful homes, community corner stores that stock everything, and mosques dating from 1795 to 1958. Our journey includes visits to a Community Empowerment Project, a local spice shop, and the Bo-Kaap Museum.

We then visit a local resident, our gracious hostess, offering an immersive encounter with her religious, cultural, and culinary heritage.  Let’s join her in the preparation and cooking of samosas, Rooti (flat bread), and a choice of chicken or vegetable curry in her kitchen. Then together, we'll gather around her table to savour this authentic feast—a true experience in one of Cape Town's oldest and most culturally rich neighbourhoods.

Take a cable car up Table Mountain

Afternoon

This afternoon, let’s discover Table Mountain with a trip up this famous mountain via cable car. The floors of the cars rotate 360 degrees, providing passengers with a panoramic view on clear days of Cape Town, Table Bay & Robben Island to the North and the Atlantic seaboard to the West & South.

Explore the Cape Peninsula

Full Day

Our South African adventure continues with a guided Cape Peninsula excursion where we will be treated to some of the most breath-taking scenery in the world! Let’s drive along the coastal route, overlooking the rocky peninsula and take in stunning views of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans along the way.

We will visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve and walk to the tip of the Cape Peninsula that has captivated travellers for centuries. We will then pass through the naval village of Simon’s Town, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg before stopping at Boulders Beach for an up close and personal encounter with African Penguins. We will finish our day by visiting Kirstenbosch Gardens, one of the great botanical gardens of the world. Lunch is included today.

Food Tour of Stellensbosch

Morning

Today let’s leave Cape Town behind as we travel towards the scenic winelands where some of the world-famous wines that define South Africa are produced. After a drive of approximately one hour we will arrive into Stellensbosch where our local guide will lead us on a tasty discovery of the traditional food and drinks of the Cape. Along the way, we will explore the historic heart of Stellenbosch with its elegant oak-lined streets and rich architectural heritage.

Wine Tour and Tasting

Afternoon

Let’s continue to a local wine estate for a wine cellar tour and wine tasting. Let’s witness the entire winemaking process, from the growth of the grapes on the estate to the maturation and bottling of the wine in the cellars and tasting the produce at the end. A visit to a wine estate is sure to be a highlight of any trip to South Africa.

We will then head to our local guesthouse to stay overnight.

Free time at Leisure

Full Day

Today you have the day at leisure in Stellensbosch. Why not visit one of the local food markets or one of the local art galleries. Your local guide will be happy to suggest activities to suit your interests.

If you want to travel further afield a coach transfer will be available to visit the nearby town of Franschhoek. This once sleepy little village was named Franschhoek, meaning 'French Corner' as it was founded by French Huguenots. Explore the Cape Dutch architecture, visit world-class wine estates, indulge in excellent restaurants, or browse boutique shops along the tree-lined avenues. The choice is yours!

Fly to Kruger National Park

Full Day

Today, let’s embark on an exciting journey to Cape Town International Airport for our included internal flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. upon arrival let’s travel to our safari camp on the southern edge of Kruger National Park. (transfer time approximately 1.5 hrs / 60km)

Kruger National Park is known as one of the world's best wildlife watching destinations where all of Africa’s iconic safari species – elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and zebra wander its wild plains and magnificent landscapes covered in African bushveld and savannah.

We’ll have the rest of the day to settle into our lodge accommodation before a dinner with a view overlooking the scenic park.

Let’s get ready for an early morning adventure as we set out for a full day game drive in Kruger National Park aboard an open safari jeep. As we traverse the park's vast landscapes, let’s keep our eyes peeled for the majestic African elephant, lion, leopard, Cape buffalo, and rhinoceros—the renowned Big Five. With 147 mammal species, 507 bird species, and 114 reptile species inhabiting Kruger National Park, every moment promises excitement. We will return to camp in the mid-afternoon, hopefully cherishing a day filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Discover the Panorama Route

Full Day

Let’s uncover more of Kruger National Park today as we embark on a scenic drive to visit the wonders that the “Panorama Route” has to offer. We will see sights such as the Blyderiver Canyon, which is 60 km long and is the third largest canyon in the world.  We will stop at some viewpoints along the edge of the escarpment offering excellent views of the Blydedam, the canyon and the Blyderiver 600 meters below. Next let’s travel onto the Panorama route’s famous waterfalls,  The Berlin Falls, the Lisbon Falls and the Max Max Falls, where water cascades off sheer cliffs to pools below, an awe inspiring sight. We will also stop at the Bourke’s Luck Potholes, formed by erosion where we can obtain a closer look from bridges specially constructed over the potholes. Our final stop will be the Graskop Gorge Lift where we can enjoy a walk on the forest floor with elevated walk ways and suspension bridges, before returning to our camp for overnight, full of the wonders we have seen.

Embark on a Bush Walk

Today we are up early again to embark on a bush walk with an expert safari guide. Our guides will teach us a number of new skills including tracking, animal behaviour and identification of plants and trees during this opportunity to immerse ourselves in the natural environment of Kruger National Park.

This afternoon, let’s seize our last chance to encounter the Big Five on another thrilling game drive. Keep our eyes peeled for wildlife as we savour the final moments of this incredible safari adventure.

Travel to Johannesburg

Let’s depart Kruger National Park today to travel towards Johannesburg. (transfer time approximately 5 hours/ 400km) Informally known as Jozi, Joburg, or "The City of Gold", is the largest city in South Africa, its financial centre, and is one of the 100 largest urban areas in the world.

Farewell Dinner

Let’s check into our hotel and have the afternoon to relax after our long drive. We will have a final dinner included together as group tonight. This is the perfect time for us to reminisce on the adventures we have shared over the last few days in South Africa.

Johannesburg City Tour and Fly Home

Today it is time to bid a fond farewell to the beautiful continent of Africa. After a panoramic coach tour through Johannesburg and a visit to the Apartheid museum where we will gain insights into South Africa's complex history before heading to the airport for our return overnight flight home.

As we touch down, bringing an end to our African odyssey, let’s take a moment to reflect on the remarkable experiences and memories created during this unforgettable journey. Time to start planning our next adventure!
